A beautiful blend of the South's own raised-cottage style and the more formal Greek Revival style, The Galleries offers elegance, comfort, and Southern charm. The exterior design features simplicity and symmetry with four columns topped by a simple dentil cornice supporting the front gallery. Sidelights and a transom surround the entry, which is flanked by long shuttered windows with over-window moldings. Lattticework at the foundation and carport lends a decorative yet practical touch; arched lattice panels set into the walls of the attached carport convert it into a breezeway.
The floor plan features a central foyer flanked by formal living and dining rooms, each containing a traditional mantel with marble hearth. Wide cased openings between rooms combine with high ceilings (10 feet on the first floor and 9 feet on the second) to produce a spacious effect. Working drawings for this plan include details for a small storage structure.
