Gracefully curving steps lead guests to the front gallery of Our Classic Greek Revival house. Designed by Skip Tuminello of Vicksburg, Mississippi, the house captures the gracious spirit of the Old South. Six Doric columns support the overhanging roof, which rests on a deep entablature. Dentil molding reflects the formality of original Greek Revival homes built during the 1800s. The design's symmetry, centerhall plan, and exterior chimneys also echo this classical influence.
The simple floor plan offers about 4,100 square feet of heated space. Large openings between rooms and 10-foot ceilings add to the spacious feeling of the interior. Galleries, front and rear, provide pleasant outdoor living spaces. A steeply pitched gabled roof allows for three bedrooms, three baths, and a large bonus space on the second level. A total of six dormer windows open the upstairs rooms to light and views.
The attached garage and the master bedroom suite recall the dependencies that flanked many early 19th-century houses. The siting of the garage and master suite wings can be varied to suit the homeowner.
